Crown Lengthening

What is crown lengthening?

Crown lengthening reduces gum tissue and shaves down bone when necessary so more of the tooth is above the gum’s surface. A properly fitted crown allows for better oral hygiene and comfort. Some people seek crown lengthening to alter a “gummy smile,” in which the gums are visible above the teeth when smiling.

What is the procedure of Crown lengthening?

Cutting of 2mm of gum tissue with the help of blade and laser – Cautery, to achieve proper tooth height. It’s a minor surgical procedure in which we have to give at least 7 to 10 days after the procedure. Then we can take measurement of the tooth for placement of a crown (metal, ceramic, and zirconia).

Why this procedure is required?

Whenever, tooth (crown) height is insufficient for the proper placement of a crown (cover) and to increase the longevity of the crown (metal, ceramic, and zirconia).

What is the cost of the treatment?

This minor surgical procedure’s cost depends on the position of the tooth as well gum tissue. It might vary from 1200 to 3000 per tooth.

Our goal is to treat all the patients irrespective of patient’s financial capacity.
